چکیده

We study the worst case complexity of computing ε-approximations of surface integrals. This problem has two sources of partial information: the integrand f and the function g defining the surface. The problem is nonlinear in its dependence on g. Here, f is an r times continuously differentiable scalar function of l variables, and g is an s times continuously differentiable injective function of d variables with l components. We must have d ≤ l and s ≥ 1 for surface integration to be well-defined. Surface integration is related to the classical integration problem for functions of d variables that are min{r, s − 1} times continuously differentiable. This might suggest that the complexity of surface integration should be2((1/ε)d/min{r,s−1}). Indeed, this holds when d < l and s = 1, in which case the surface integration problem has infinite complexity. However, if d ≤ l and s ≥ 2, we prove that This research was supported in part by the National Science Foundation under Grant CCR9987858. †This research was supported in part by the National Science Foundation under Grant CCR9731858.

Integrated Care: A Pill for All Ills?

There is an increasing policy emphasis on the integration of care, both within the healthcare sector and also between the health and social care sectors, with the simple aim of ensuring that individuals get the right care, in the right place, at the right time. However, implementing this simple aim is rather more complex. In this editorial, we seek to make sense of this complexity and ask: what...

Integration and Reduction of Microarray Gene Expressions Using an Information Theory Approach

The DNA microarray is an important technique that allows researchers to analyze many gene expression data in parallel. Although the data can be more significant if they come out of separate experiments, one of the most challenging phases in the microarray context is the integration of separate expression level datasets that have gathered through different techniques. In this paper, we prese...

Survey the Security Function of Integration of vehicular ad hoc Networks with Software-defiend Networks

In recent years, Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) have emerged as one of the most active areas in the field of technology to provide a wide range of services, including road safety, passenger's safety, amusement facilities for passengers and emergency facilities. Due to the lack of flexibility, complexity and high dynamic network topology, the development and management of current Vehicular A...

The Impact of the Economic Complexity Index on Competitiveness: A Study of Selected Emerging Countries

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between economic complexity and competitiveness using panel data in a sample of 39 emerging countries from 2002 to 2018. The results of the causality test of Dmitresco and Horlin Granger (2012) show a two-way cause between economic complexity and competitiveness. This indicates that the higher complexity of the economy helps coun...

Geopolitical Divergence in the League of Arab States from a Neorealist Point of View

The League of Arab States (also known as the Arab League) is well past its sixth decade of establishment. However, it has a long way to go to achieve the objectives enumerated in its charter. In a sense, there is much stronger propensity towards disintegration than integration in the League. This article seeks to study the reasons that account for the failure of such integration in the Arab Lea...
